The MCTS certifications enable professionals to target specific technologies and distinguish themselves by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of and expertise in the technologies with which they work. MCTS are consistently capable of implementing, building, troubleshooting, and debugging a particular Microsoft® technology.

There are currently five MCTS certifications. More will become available as new technologies are introduced. The five certifications:

MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications
MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications
MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Distributed Applications
MCTS: SQL Server™ 2005
MCTS: BizTalk Server® 2006

The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist credential enables professionals to target specific technologies and distinguish themselves by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and expertise within their area of specialization.

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Distributed Applications

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists are Web developers, Microsoft Windows developers, or enterprise software developers. They may also be database developers and systems administrators who do not work with the .NET Framework 2.0 daily but who want to show their breadth of technology experience. Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Distributed Applications
The MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Distributed Applications Certification proves your depth and breadth of skills and knowledge of Web services, .NET Remoting, Enterprise Services, and Message Queuing (MSMQ) technology. Successful candidates will pass two exams, one focusing on .NET Framework 2.0 foundational skills and the other on development of distributed applications.

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .Net Framework 2.0 Web Applications

The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: .Net Framework 2.0 Web Applications is for Technology Specialists who work in the area of web developing, windows developing or enterprises software developers. They may also be database developers or systems administrators who do not work daily with the .Net Framework 2.0, but who want to show their technology experience.

The MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications Certification proves your breadth and depth of knowledge in both Web application technology and data access in Web applications. Successful candidates will pass two exams, one focusing on .NET Framework 2.0 foundational skills and the other focusing on Web-based client development.

Successful candidates will pass two exams, one focusing on .NET Framework 2.0 foundational skills and the other on Windows-based client development.

The Technology Specialist certifications enable professionals to target specific technologies and distinguish themselves by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and expertise within SQL Server 2005.
